Bemused
One ends- Another begins in my eyes.
Affliction found, infected now. In heart and mind I'm lost to you.
If (only) loitered I, but bothered not. Forgotten our goodbyes.
Our feelings-shared, though barely bared. Forgotten by you too.
Cataclysmic musings now fill our lungs.
Bemused in concluding, that our days are done.

Of Truth and Law II
"Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws." - Plato (427-347 B.C.)
I believe Plato to be speaking of the fact that those of us with half a moral compass hold the ability to act morally. Very few still retain this ability in a world filled to the very brim with violence, substance and sex. A world in which our children can no longer play in their own front yards. A world where governments lie and churches steal. Though not all are bad and I do believe in God, the current state of the world sure makes it difficult to believe in much of anything. If Jesus died on a cross to pay for sinners' wasted lives, then why are millions still giving the church their hard earned dollars, instead of receiving a free look at the love their pastors preach? The truth in Plato's words is that the people who will follow the laws so loosely enforced in our society are those who would have followed their own moral compasses and not committed certain acts to begin with. Yet those that do break laws, are those that would have done it no matter what.
